Emergency is a great book, Neal managed to bring several subjects (PT, 2nd passports, tactical training) into a mainstream story. I sort of wish he would have left out some of the political stuff, but overall it is a great book that will help to encourage people to prepare for worst case situations.

I'm a big fan of this book.
I also liked all the interesting books mentioned in it. So, I'm starting a blog where I talk about and review all the books Neil mentions in his journey, and then some. It'll be over at Emergency Books (http://emergency-books.com/)
Wish me luck!

You're right on target. Self-development is one of the best investments you can make. It is all about ROI. And its value doesn't decrease when the market crashes. It keeps paying dividends in tough times.

Oooh, I'll have to check out the Sony one. I've seen it at Target, but as I'm a sucker for Marketing, figured the Kindle to be superior. I'm still not totally sold on this single use e-reader thing. I read PDFs etc. on my Phone / PDA, but after 4 years I still like books better. Maybe the Sony E-Reader can sway me...

Thanks for the comment!!

I believe the reason I fell for the Kindle right away, probably like most buyers, is that at the time I had been naive to assume it would remain as the only, one-of-a-kind portable e-book readers for some time. I was not aware of any other company possessing any market share in this digital reading technology.

And then I recently learned that Sony came out with an even more impressive, unparalleled (for now) Digital Book Reader incomparable to the Kindle.

It was definitely a great read though I would definitely argue that he walked a very tight line of stressing to be prepared and being alarmist and I felt he crossed it at times. I completely agree with your side note about him making no mention of Project Hollywood. Reading this book it's almost as if it never happened and just left me with a weird feeling.
